Buying or selling an aircraft can create a legal nightmare for business owners who don’t anticipate the kinds of problems that can arise. You don’t want to wait until a dispute arises about the condition or history of an aircraft, or damage to an aircraft occurs that may or may not be covered by insurance. That is why it’s important that you retain legal representation from an experienced aviation attorney.

”As a VP and in-house counsel for Liberty Global focusing on aviation issues, I had the pleasure of working with Michelle Wade for the past 10+ years. She is a superb and highly qualified aviation attorney. She has vast experience in representing domestic and international clients in the operation, financing, purchase, sale, leasing, and private use of corporate aircraft, including related regulatory and tax compliance issues. I very much valued her practical advice and ability to timely and efficiently marshal closings, without exception. I highly recommend her!Terry Davis
”We would like to thank you for all the expert guidance and legal assistance that you have given us over the last 13 years. Your diligence, persistence, and precise handling of all the many dozens of aircraft contracts, leases, sales agreements, and US and European importations have time and again made these tricky legal issues straightforward and painless.
Our success as both a Part 135 and Part 91 operator, flying millions of miles and thousands of hours around the world, could not have happened without your amazing attention to detail and uncanny ability to organize the complex legal documentation required, as well as navigate the laborious legal processes of the increasingly difficult EASA and FAA regulatory authorities.
It has been and absolute pleasure working with you and we look forward to many more years of collaboration.Nick VennDirector of Operations, The Whitewind Company
”Michelle Wade is an exceptional aviation attorney. Her attention to detail and ability to keep the parties advised of the status of complex aircraft transactions is second to none.
My first experience with Michelle was also my first experience with an aircraft sale and purchase. I am an in-house attorney whose principal at the time desired to purchase his aircraft off its lease. During the negotiations and transaction, not only was the aircraft scheduled to be overseas throughout the process and not return until post-closing, it had rental engines on board as the original engines were in Dallas going through their 10-year overhaul. As in most closings, the aircraft needed to be in a tax-free jurisdiction at the time of closing. This not only required the aircraft to be in a specific location of the Geneva airport but also that the engines be shipped from Dallas to Kansas for the closing. Just to add an additional wrinkle the closing was scheduled for Monday 7 July so everyone needed to make these things happen of the 4th of July weekend.
This was all new to me but Michelle’s steady hand and guidance provided me with unshakeable confidence that we would accomplish this closing without issue which of course we did!
Subsequently, we have had the benefit of working together on several aircraft closings, all with their own degrees of complexity, but never with any hitches that could not be overcome or doubt that we would get it done. All thanks to Michelle!
I, without hesitation, highly recommend Michelle as an aviation attorney!Dean W. Steele
